If the anode rod becomes fully depleted or corroded, the water heater tank may begin to rust, crack, fail, or leak. These magnesium anode rods measure 4.5 inches (115 mm) in length, 0.5 inch (13 mm) in diameter, with 1/2-inch NPT threads. Compatible with standard RV water heaters requiring 1/2-inch threaded anode rods. To drain the tank, unscrew and remove the anode rod. If the rod is significantly corroded or consumed, replace it with a new one. It is recommended to keep a spare anode rod in your RV.
