Encoder supply requires 5V; encoder signals are available for closedloop control or position sensing. Important electrical and wiring notes Always verify motor power polarity. Reversing positive and negative connections is strictly prohibited. Use a regulated, nonsurge DC power source such as a battery or a stabilized DC power supply. Encoder supply voltage: 5V. Do not omit the encoder supply when using encoder signals. Direction switching should be performed after the motor has come to a complete stop to avoid instantaneous current surge. Basic test and wiring procedure Red wire: connect to positive DC supply. Black wire: connect to negative DC supply. Yellow start wire: connect to positive through a 1 kohm resistor when using supply voltages at or above 12V. If using below 12V, connect the yellow wire directly to positive without the resistor. White PWM line: connecting white to negative will run the motor at speed. For speed control, input a PWM signal up to 20 kHz on the white line. Green wire: used for forward and reverse switching. Apply according to the wiring diagram and only switch direction after the motor has stopped. Follow the wiring diagram included with the product for exact pin labels and connections.
