Heat 70 to 80 degrees Celsius hot water and prepare a cup of ice water for cooling. Do not use boiling water or hot water from drinking fountains. 2. Submerge the mouthguard, liner side down, in the hot water for about 15 seconds to soften. 3. Remove carefully, let cool slightly, then firmly place onto the upper teeth and bite down gently to form the impression. Press with fingers against the outer surface to shape the front and sides. 4. Test the fit. If it is not comfortable or secure, allow the mouthguard to cool, then repeat the softening and molding steps. 5. After molding, cool the mouthguard thoroughly in ice water to set the shape. The molding process may take about 30 seconds. 6. If needed, carefully trim small areas for a fit. Tips The mouthguard can feel larger after molding. Do not assume it is too small before completing the fitting process. Avoid excessive heat or boiling water, which can damage the guard.
