Insert a match so the match head sits upright on the concave surface. Use an alcohol lamp to heat the heat storage block. After a period, observe how matches drop onto each heatconducting rod and compare the results to evaluate thermal conductivity differences. Care and maintenance: After the experiment, allow the heatconducting rod to cool completely. Wipe clean, apply oil, and store. Handle the instrument carefully to avoid dropping or striking the heatconducting rod.
