This Umebachi Ryoma 30mm Crafting Edge Plane is a traditional Japanese Kiwaganna designed specifically for precision trimming rabbets. Ideal for creating sharp 90-degree edges, this tool ensures clean results in joinery, cabinetmaking, and detailed furniture work. Its compact form and fine blade setting allow for smooth, controlled shaving without compromising surface integrity.This rabbet plane is used primarily for tasks that involve corner finishing, fitting tenons, cleaning rebate shoulders, and precision edge work in cabinetry. It’s particularly valued by woodworkers for fine adjustments in mortise and tenon joints, or when refining intersecting panels. Apply gentle forward pressure to remove thin shavings from the rabbet, pulling the plane towards you.Wipe the blade clean and oil it after each use to prevent rust. Store in a dry location with the blade retracted or protected. Do not drop or strike the plane against hard surfaces, as this may damage the wooden body or blade seating.
