This Michihamono Maru Sukui Bent U Gouge Wood Carving Chisel 30mm Woodworking Tool is a wide spoon shaped carving chisel developed for hollowing broad concave areas and clearing recessed backgrounds in wood. The bent U blade profile provides improved reach inside curved sections, allowing steady and controlled material removal across larger surfaces. The White Paper Steel No. 2 blade is a high-purity, high-carbon Japanese steel, manufactured by Hitachi, known for achieving incredible, razor-sharp edges (60-63 HRC) and extreme ease of sharpening.It is particularly suited for roughing out bowls, clearing relief backgrounds, shaping decorative recesses, and forming deep internal curves where the wider cutting edge increases efficiency.
