Draw the plane towards you along the edge of the wood while keeping even pressure. Adjust the chamfer width to the desired dimensions by loosening the wing nuts, and moving the fence, before retightening. Adjust the blade and chip breaker by gently tapping the back of the blade to extend, and the heel of the body to retract. Always plane with the grain for the smoothest results, and test on scrap wood if unsure of cutting depth.Wipe the blade clean after each use and lightly oil the exposed metal surface to prevent rust.
