This A3 size vegetable-tanned leather sheet is made from high quality full-grain cowhide, carefully tanned and skived in Japan to a stable 1.5mm thickness. Measuring 297mm by 420mm (11.7 x 16.5 inches), it provides an excellent working surface for tooling, cutting, and shaping compact but structured leather goods.This leather responds cleanly to carving tools and stamps, with a smooth grain and consistent surface that holds fine detail. The skived flesh side is also suitable for burnishing, allowing for both the edges and back side to be polished. With no surface coatings, the leather accepts tooling impressions cleanly and predictably.Each piece is machine cut with square edges, making it ideal for efficient layout with minimal trimming waste. The moderate size and firmness make this sheet suitable for medium-sized craft work such as journal covers, wallets, stitched sheaths, and folded inserts.
