MM/MC Phono Preamplifier with Headphone Amp, Compact Aluminium Stereo Preamp for Turntables

Switchable MM/MC Phono Stage with Headphone Monitoring This compact phono preamplifier brings together a switchable MM/MC phono stage and a dedicated headphone amplifier in a single aluminium enclosure. Whether you are digitising a cherished vinyl collection or settling in for a focused listening session, the unit is designed to sit neatly alongside your turntable without dominating your setup. The matte black finish keeps the visual profile understated, while the 84 x 84 mm footprint means it slips easily onto a shelf or desk. Accurate RIAA Equalisation and Quiet Background The phono stage offers switchable moving magnet and moving coil operation, so you can match the input to your cartridge without needing a separate step-up device. RIAA equalisation is held to within ±0.5 dB, which helps preserve the natural warmth and tonal balance of your records. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 80 dB, background hiss is kept well under control during quieter passages, allowing the music to come through cleanly. Headphone Output for Private Listening The built-in headphone amplifier drives headphones from 16 to 200 ohms, delivering up to 250 mW at 32 ohms. That makes it suitable for a wide range of everyday headphones, from sensitive in-ear models to higher-impedance over-ear designs. Ground loop isolation helps prevent the hum that can appear when the preamp shares a power source with the turntable, so you can monitor your records without unwanted interference. Thoughtful Construction and Connectivity Inside, op-amps maintain phase coherence across the signal path, while gold-plated terminals help keep connections reliable. The aluminium housing offers a degree of shielding against interference from nearby routers and other electronic devices. Power is flexible: a C input works with laptop chargers or power banks, and crocodile clips are included. The unit draws less energy than a typical light bulb, making it an economical addition to a listening setup.
