18cm Cast Iron Wok Support Ring

Crafted from solid cast iron, this wok ring has an outer diameter of 18 cm, an inner aperture of 8 cm, and slot width of 1 cm. Its dense, non-porous material gives it substantial weight and excellent heat retention properties. No coatings or plating — just raw, functional cast iron built for longevity. It serves as a stable platform for round-bottomed woks and pans on open-flame gas stoves, preventing rocking or sliding during active cooking. The material’s heat absorption helps moderate temperature spikes at the pan’s centre, encouraging more uniform heat transfer across the cooking surface. Beyond gas hobs, it performs well on electric oven grills (placed directly on the rack), charcoal or gas barbecues (positioned over the grate), and even as a stable base on microwave turntables — though never heated inside the microwave cavity itself. Its resilience to thermal cycling and mechanical stress makes it suitable for daily and occasional outdoor use alike.
