Step 2 :Open the release valve: Open the large plastic round pressure relief valve. When you open the valve, you hear a hissing sound, which is the sound of air being released from the pump. Before proceeding, make sure the sound stops completely. Step 3 :Remove the strap and cap: Remove the strap from the pump and set it aside. Open the lid of the pump and find a long cylinder with ridges on it. Step 4: Find and remove the filter: Once you have found the filter, lift it up and remove it from the pump. Step 5:Replace with a new filter: Place the new pool filter in the pump where the old filter is located. Close the lid and place the strap back on the pump. Step 6 :Close the release valve: Now, close the release valve and make sure it is tightened. If the valve is not tightened, the pressure of the water pump will become weaker and will not work properly.
