The Cloud Drive pedal is a fat clean booster to mid crunchy overdrive. Its not a high gain compressed type of lead pedal. It's more about adding boost and distortion while keeping the dynamics and voicing of the amp The pedal is true bypass. The pedaI has gain/bass/treble/volume controls. The bass and treble controls are cutstyle controls. That means that as you turn them clockwise they will roll off the bass and treble frequencies. Zero(7'oclock) is fat-no cutting of the frequency response Setting the gain/bass/treble all to zero sets the pedal up as a fat clean boost Unity gain is about 12o'clock on the volume when set as a clean boost. The bass control is pre distortion Most pedals roll off the low end before you distort the signal to keep things tight and clear. but what hat means is you do not have the low end there when you need it for cleaner settings, The bass control will allow you to keep the low end for the cleaner sounds, and dial it out for the crunchier sounds. The treble control is post distortion .Like the bass circuit -most overdrive pedals will have a preset high end roll of post clipping to keep the pedal from being fizzy and noisy when distorting,but you will lose the highs for the cleaner setting .so for cleaner settings you might have the treble on zero 7 o'clock) for all the highs, and as you turn up the distortion you would roll back the treble to keep things smooth. Being able to control the pre and post EQ gives you the ability to go from Fat and clean boosting to tighter more mid rangy overdrive sounds When setting the pedal up for overdrive a god staring point is to roll the bass/treble all the way out(5 o'clock ). Bring the gain up to a level you want and then roll the treble back in(counter clockwise)to give it the edge you're looking. Then maybe roll some bass back in (counter clockwise) if you need it thicker.
