Remove the knob by rotating it counter-clockwise; some models may require an open-ended wrench to grip the shift lever nut. Remove the knob and shift lever nut from the shifter. Use an angled, wide, plastic pry tool to carefully separate the trim from the center console. Remove the plastic assembly surrounding the shift lever. Disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the shifter surround and lift the shifter. Flip the shift boot inside out, cut the black zip tie, and remove the existing shifter boot retainer. Install the new boot retainer from the exterior side of the shifter surround. Secure it using the provided O-ring and screws. Reassemble the shift boot, trim, and knob. Verify proper operation.
