How to measure your dog Snout Length Measure in a straight line starting just in front of your dogs eyes, ending at the tip of their nose. Snout Width Measure the widest part of your dogs snout, keeping the tape flat.. DO NOT include the cheeks. Pant Height Wait until your dog is panting (after play or a walk). Measure from the tip of their nose straight down to the bottom of their jaw. OR Measure the height of your dogs mouth whilst shut and add at least 5cm for pant room.
