Silver Black Reflective Plastic Mulch for Vegetables and Small Fruits Product overview Durable polyethylene film with a reflective silver surface and black underside designed for ground cover use in greenhouses and field beds. Available thickness options: 0.012 mm or 0.02 mm. Width: 1.0 m. Length options: 20 m, 30 m, 40 m. Packaging options: 0.012 mm 20 m, 0.012 mm 30 m, 0.012 mm 40 m, 0.02 mm 20 m, 0.02 mm 30 m, 0.02 mm 40 m. Key benefits and how it solves problems Weed control: The low light transmission and black underside reduce weed emergence, lowering labor and herbicide needs. Soil warming: The reflective surface increases radiation at the soil surface and helps raise root zone temperature for earlier growth and faster crop development. Moisture and nutrient retention: Reduces soil moisture evaporation and limits nutrient leaching to maintain more stable growing conditions. Pest reduction: Reflective surface helps disrupt certain insect pests and reduces pest pressure in rows covered with the film. Strong and flexible: Polyethylene construction provides good tensile strength for typical field and greenhouse handling. Performance and compatibility Designed for transplanted warm season and cool season vegetables and for direct seeded crops sown in hills, such as cucumbers. Suitable for small fruit production using an annual hill system, for example strawberries. Works in both greenhouse and open field applications where 1.0 m wide rolls fit standard bed layouts. Practical use scenarios Strawberry hill system: Lay the silver black film over prepared hills, cut planting holes at recommended spacing, and secure edges to maintain soil warmth and reduce weeds through the season. Greenhouse cucumbers and melons: Use the film in plasticulture bed rows to accelerate early growth, conserve moisture, and reduce weed competition after transplanting. Vegetable transplant beds: Cover rows of tomatoes, peppers, or eggplants to improve soil temperature, maintain consistent moisture, and reduce time spent on manual weeding. Handling note For transport convenience the film is folded into a compact bundle. Fold creases may be visible upon delivery. Do not if visible folds are unacceptable for your application.
