2Pcs M20x1.5 Straight Flute Tap, High Speed Steel Metric Thread Tapping Tool for Through Hole, Compatible with Steel Rubber Aluminum Copper and Wood

This set includes 2 pieces of M20x1.5 straight flute taps made from high speed steel, designed for metric threading. They are compatible with through holes and work well with thick steel, rubber, aluminum, copper, and wood. The taps feature a straight slot design and a thread tolerance grade of 0.014, with fine thread codes. The set consists of two taps: a head cone (taper tap) for rough machining and a second cone (plug tap) for fine machining and deburring. The head cone has a tapered front section without threads to help align the tap with the hole and ensure perpendicularity. The second cone helps polish the threads and can tap to the bottom in blind holes. For best results, clamp the workpiece securely and position the tapping surface horizontally or vertically. Start tapping by placing the tap as far as possible, then press along the axis with one hand while gently rotating with the other. After 1-2 turns, check that the tap is perpendicular to the workpiece; use a right angle ruler if needed. After 3-4 turns, the direction is usually set. If not correct, remove the tap, correct with two taps, and restart with the head tap. Once all cutting parts are in the workpiece, no axial force is needed; the tap will feed naturally.
