Active Balancing for Long-Lasting Battery Packs This 12S active equaliser module is designed to keep multi-cell lithium battery packs performing at their best. With a balancing current of up to 5.5 A, it actively redistributes charge between cells, helping to maintain consistent voltage levels across the pack. This is particularly valuable as batteries age, since the rate of capacity loss can become uneven over time and lead to growing voltage differences between cells. By addressing these imbalances, the module supports more reliable operation and helps extend the useful life of the battery pack. Precise Voltage Control The module delivers accurate balancing with a voltage precision of within 5 mV. The balancing current adjusts automatically according to the voltage difference between cells: when the difference is 0.1 V, the balancing current is 1.0 A, and it increases proportionally as the voltage gap widens, up to the maximum of 5.5 A. As the cells become more evenly matched, the current reduces accordingly. This responsive approach ensures efficient balancing without unnecessary energy draw. Low Standby Consumption In standby mode, the module draws less than 0.1 mA, making it well suited for installations where minimal power consumption is important. The design also includes a reserved footprint for a sleep switch, allowing you to incorporate an external switch if you wish to further control when the balancer is active. Compatibility The module is compatible with 12S lithium battery configurations, including LiFePO4, LiPo and LTO chemistries, as well as energy capacitor banks.
