7-Band EQ Headphone Amplifier with 3.5mm Input, 2-Channel Audio Mixer

Seven-Band Equaliser and Headphone Amplifier This compact unit combines a seven-band graphic equaliser with a dedicated headphone amplifier, giving you precise tonal control over your audio. With a control range of ±12dB across seven frequency bands, you can shape the sound to suit your listening preferences or correct for the acoustic characteristics of your environment. The equalisation bands cover 60Hz, 150Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 3kHz, 6.5kHz and 15kHz, providing effective adjustment from deep bass through to high treble. The preamplifier section uses a classic 4580 operational amplifier to deliver a 5x gain stage, equivalent to 14dB of additional amplification. Input impedance measures 20kΩ with an output impedance of 600Ω, ensuring clean signal transfer when connected to downstream equipment. The equaliser circuit itself is built around a TL074 quad operational amplifier, a well-regarded component choice for audio applications. Headphone Output and Connectivity The built-in headphone amplifier is based on the NE5532 operational amplifier and follows the well-known 47 headphone driver circuit topology. This design provides ample drive for a wide range of headphone impedances, making it easy to achieve comfortable listening levels with most models. The front panel includes a 3.5mm input that accepts a four-pole plug, allowing connection to a headset with an integrated microphone. This means you can use the unit for normal voice calls on a mobile phone while still enjoying the benefit of the equaliser. A set of RCA terminals is also provided for line-level connections, offering flexibility when integrating the unit into a larger audio setup.
