Product Description Is this a Hall effect stick or a TMR stick? It is a Hall effect module. The metal bracket on each stick is stamped HALL3D, and the original listing describes the part as a 3D Hall effect sensor replacement joystick. Both sense through a magnet, but they are not the same part. Is this module a part for Nintendo Switch 2 and its Joy-Con 2? No. The pack note limits this module to use for Switch, Switch OLED and Switch Lite, and marks Switch 2 with a cross. Those three share one stick design, so the two modules in a pack cover a left and a right unit. Do I have to calibrate after fitting the stick? Yes. Open System Settings, pick Controllers and Sensors and run Calibrate Control Sticks. Then hold the power button until the console powers right down, and start it again. Skipping this is the usual cause of an off-centre stick. Which tools come in the box, and are spare screws included? A Y 1.5 tri-wing driver opens the back cover, a cross 1.5 driver takes out the inner screws, and an 8.6 cm pry tool plus 12.2 cm ESD-15 tweezers finish the job. Spare screws are not in the box, so keep the ones you remove. Will this put an end to stick drift? It removes the wear that causes drift, because the sensor reads through a magnetic field with no contact surface to grind down. Knocks, a torn ribbon cable or a skipped calibration can still upset any stick, so fit it gently.
