Composition: HAMAMELIS: Botanical origin: Part of the Hamamelidaceae family, Witch Hazel is a perennial shrub native to North America and Canada, growing wild in the dry forests of these regions. Now also cultivated in Europe, this "spider tree" has flexible, twisting branches up to five metres high, with long, dull green leaves. In autumn, these give way to numerous small, bright yellow fleurs with elongated petals and a tea-like scent. Capsules also appear at this time, exploding at maturity to release two black seeds.
